Description

Journalist, politician, editor, and founder of the New York Tribune. ALS, one page, 5 x 8, Office of The Tribune letterhead, July 7, 1865. Letter to an unidentified gentleman regarding a poem submitted for publication. In part, “Had Mr. Pierforth's poem been sent us at once directly after its debut, it would have been most welcome. It is now late.” Matted and framed with a small portrait of Greeley reading, to an overall size of 14.75 x 12.5. In fine condition, with some scattered light toning, mostly to bottom portion. R&R COA.
