Wadlow was 8 feet and 11 inches tall when he died of an infected blister at the age of 22. He was of normal height and weight at birth, but pituitary disease led to his over-growth. By age eight he was six feet tall; by age 16 he stood nearly 7'10" and weighed over 370 pounds. As a young adult, Wadlow toured as a goodwill ambassador for the International Shoe Company. After his death he gained extra fame from his annual listing as the worlds tallest man in the Guinness Book of World Records. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 photo of Wadlow posing alongside his father and manager, after his graduation from high school, listing his height at 8 feet, 5.5 inches, signed on the reverse in pencil. In fine condition, with a few spots of light soiling to signature side and a few stray lines of discoloration to background of photo side. R&R COA.
