Aviator (1895–1976) best known for making the first flight from New York to Rome (via Spain) in 1929. Vintage sepia matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Williams in his flying gear, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To my buddy Bob Dewey, with best wishes for a successful venture in his new enterprize [sic], Roger Q. Williams, N.Y. to Rome Italy.” In very good condition, with large diagonal crease to lower right corner, scattered bends, and mild soiling and rippling. R&R COA.
