DS, one page, 13 x 9.5, November 29, 1817. A document granting to John Van Allen, formerly a private in Chapman’s Company of the Sixth Regiment of Infantry, a tract of land in Illinois. In very good condition, with usual folds (one through signature), light soiling, scattered staining (including dampstaining to left margin), small hole near seal, and slightly irregular adhesion to signature, which remains clear and dark.
