Making a good impression(ist): “I ... will have the greatest pleasure of being in Hanover Terrace on Thursday”

Highly regarded British artist (1775–1851) who was a pioneering figure in the development of the Impressionist aesthetic. Scarce ALS, one page, 4.25 x 7, no date. The artist writes to Miss Rogers. In part: “Best regards to you and Miss Johnston and glad to say I am more fortunate this time and will have the greatest pleasure of being in Hanover Terrace on Thursday the 11th.” In fine condition, with usual folds, a touch of wrinkling, and some faint, unobtrusive spotting.
