Soon to be president sends his belated thanks, “due to the physical impossibility of answering personally the thousand of kind friends who have sent me their good wishes.”

TLS, one page, 6.5 x 9, personal letterhead, August 2, 1912. Letter of thanks for a congratulatory telegram. In part, “Please accept my sincere thanks for your cordial telegram…Please, also. Pardon this too formal acknowledgement and the delay in replying. Both are due to the physical impossibility of answering personally the thousand of kind friends who have sent me their good wishes.” In fine condition, with small repaired tear to left edge and two folds, one affecting a single letter of signature.
