Botanically yours: “A plant at Kew was afterwards discovered in flower ... so that I was able to examine much the doubtful point”

ALS signed “C. L. Darwin,” one page, 5 x 8, personal letterhead, October 24 [no year]. Darwin writes to an unknown gentleman. In full: “Pray thank Prof. Reichenbach for his great kindness. I am sorry that you & he have to trouble; for a plant at Kew was afterwards discovered in flower & was sent to me, so that I was able to examine much the doubtful point.” Accompanied by an unsigned reproduction photo.
