Scarce postcard from the controversial cofounder of the German Communist Party

German lawyer, writer, and political activist (1871–1919) who cofounded the German Communist Party. After leading an unsuccessful uprising in Berlin in January 1919, Liebknecht, along with several associates, was tortured, interrogated, and killed. Scarce postcard featuring a satirical drawing of several politicians seated around a table, captioned (in German) “Breakfast at the Front,” the correspondence side featuring a photo of Liebknecht toting a wheelbarrow, 5.75 x 3.75, signed by Liebknecht on the correspondence side and dated November 11, 1917. In fine condition, with mild even toning and a very subtle brush to date. R&R COA.
