Description

Heirs of the air: Earhart and three fellow “fly guys” sign a pass for the 1935 National Air Races

Scarce original bright red admission pass to the 1935 National Air Races in Cleveland, printed on heavy pasteboard, 5 x 3, signed in fountain pen, “Amelia Earhart.” The pass has also been signed by three other aviation notables: Clyde Pangborn (1894–1958), the first person to fly nonstop across the Pacific Ocean; (in pencil) Harold Neumann (1906–1995), famed barnstormer and racer; and (in pencil) Ben Howard (1904–1970), pilot and aeronautical engineer who won both the Bendix Trophy and the Thompson Cup in 1935. Unique! In fine, clean condition, with a hint of rubbing, mild edge wear, and moderate contrast to writing resulting from the background color. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA. Featured collection item.
