In part, “Enclosed is the check for the May rent and many thanks again for finding a tenant for us. By the way, it was our understanding that gas and electricity were included in the basic rental. I note that Mr. Kidder proposes to make arrangements to pay for the gas during the occupancy by his mother! I trust that this arrangement will not apply to us!” Neatly signed at the conclusion in black ink by Karloff.
