Italian operatic tenor who with his powerful, pure, emotive voice is considered one of the greatest singers ever. Caruso died in 1921, at the age of forty-eight, from what is thought to be complications of pleurisy. He is buried in Naples. His life was the subject of a highly fictionalized Hollywood motion picture, The Great Caruso, in 1951. Since his death, numerous compilation albums of his work have been created. Wonderful vintage sepia 5.25 x 9.75 full-length portrait photo of Caruso dressed to the nines in a suit and tie as well as a hat and overcoat, boldly signed in fountain pen, “Enrico Caruso.” In fine condition, with a light crease to three corners, some silvering to darker areas and a few light surface marks. Photo is larger than the ones normally available, and combined with the bold signature, makes this highly desirable. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA. Featured collection item.
