American writer. Extremely popular in the United States in his lifetime, his works include The Song of Hiawatha (1855) and a translation (1865–1867) of Dante's The Divine Comedy. Ink signature, “Yours sincerely, Henry W. Longfellow,” on an off-white slip, dated July 18, 1868. Matted and framed with an engraved portrait of Longfellow and the first two stanzas of his Psalm Of Life, to an overall size of 13.5 x 11. In fine condition. R&R COA.
