Description

Popular character actor who would be seen in a large number of comedies, musicals and a few westerns. In the 1940s he became popular as a wise cracking comedian on the radio. This led to television in the 1950s where he was one of the hosts on the All Star Revue. He also appeared in a number of prestigious films in the 1950s including A Star Is Born with Judy Garland, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He died of stomach cancer at the age of 52. Lot of two vintage glossy 8 x 10 Warner Bros. publicity photos of Carson, each signed and inscribed in fountain pen to Clarence. Originally acquired from the estate of Clarence “Clem” Egolf, NBC radio and television producer. In fine condition, with some scattered light surface marks and toning and a few trivial creases.
