Spokesman of the “Lost Generation” remembers his manners

Jazz Age novelist and short story writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest American writers of the twentieth century. Fitzgerald was the self-styled spokesman of the “Lost Generation”, Americans born in the 1890s who came of age during World War I. He finished four novels, left a fifth unfinished, and wrote dozens of short stories that treat themes of youth, despair, and age. ANS, one page, 5.25 x 6.5, no date. Short note of thanks written to Miss Sherlock. In full, “What a nice cordial letter. Thank you.” Nicely signed at the conclusion “F. Scott Fitzgerald,” adding “‘Ellerslie’ Edgemoor, Delaware,” in the lower left. In very fine condition, with a bisecting horizontal mailing fold and some light mounting remnants to reverse.
