ALS, signed “Mark Twain,” one page on the correspondence side of a 5.5 x 3.75 postcard bearing an image of Twain’s residence in Redding, Connecticut, no date [circa 1908–1909]. Twain writes to an unknown recipient. In full: “Please send me, right away, second volume of Innocents Abroad—(red cloth). I want it for Payne, who is sailing soon. I’ve got the first volume.” On the other side of the postcard, Twain has crossed out the printed caption “Innocence at Home” and written in “Stormfield,” evidently a reference to one of his last books, Extract from Captain Stormfield’s Visit to Heaven (1909). In fine condition, with mild toning and soiling a bit heavier along one edge. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
