Promissory note, March 29, 1952, 8.5 x 3.75, signed with the rare form of his signature, “H. Hank Williams,” to Third National Bank in Nashville for $15,000.00. In fine condition, with staple to upper left, a couple small staple holes, and bank cancellations not touching the signature. This note was for the purchase of a home in Nashville. In fine condition. In 1952, Hank and his first wife Audrey separated, even as he released numerous hit songs, such as "Half as Much" and "Jambalaya.” His drug problems continued to spiral out of control as he moved to Nashville and officially divorced his wife. In October of 1952, Williams was fired from the Grand Old Opry, and told not to return until he was sober. He rejoined the Louisiana Hayride. In October of 1952, he married Billie Jean Jones Eshliman. A ceremony was held at the New Orleans Municipal Auditorium and 14,000 people bought tickets to attend. He died January 1, 1953. R&R COA.
