Barnum’s celebrated midget, who under the stage name Tom Thumb toured America and Europe to such acclaim that he was entertained at both Buckingham Palace and the White House. Fountain pen signature, “Compliments of Charles S. Stratton known as General Tom Thumb, March 22, 1861” on an off-white lined slip and “Countess M. Lavinia Nagri formerly Mrs. Genl. Tom Thumb, Middleboro, Mass, Sept. 3, 1894,” on an off-white card. Both are nicely double matted and framed with a photo of the couple to an overall size of 17.75 x 13.5. In fine condition. R&R COA.
