Advised of the growing discontent among his people, Louis prophetically observed “Après moi le déluge”—After me the flood—an apt prediction of the impending French Revolution. DS, signed “Louis,” one page, 18.5 x 17.75, September 3, 1735. An untranslated document evidently related to the granting of a privilege or royal license (“Chartre Normand”).
