ALS, two pages, 5.75 x 9.25, Hotel Cleveland letterhead, September 9. Letter to the manager of the Newport News Baseball Club. In part, “Thomas told me about Beecher—he did not intend to interfere. So forget that that [sic] part. Can understand how you would feel. Many things come up during the season that give the Manager something to worry about—you have done a good job in getting into the playoff. Only hope you can win from Lynchburg…. Am satisfied Thomas did not intend to interfere with you. He just wanted to help Springfield club. The night game was a real success and want to thank you for your work in making it so successful.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Mack’s hand. Both pages and the envelope are double matted with a photo of Mack, to an overall size of 24 x 20. In fine condition, with two horizontal mailing folds to each page.
