Gaye gets a Rocky Mountain high after cashing an appearance check

Talented singer/songwriter whose music reflected an uncommon social awareness; he was shot to death by his father in 1984. Handwritten DS, in another hand, signed “Marvin P. Gaye, Jr,” one lined page, 6 x 9, May 11, 1976. Document reads, “Received from Bank of America (Per/Pro - Greg Burgin) The sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in respect of Denver engagement, May 15, 1976.” At the bottom is written, “Check for $10,000 cashed and paid to Marvin Gaye on May 11, 1976 at his home (Hidden Hills).” In fine condition, with staple hole to top left corner.
