Gus Grissom Liberty Bell 7 commemorative cover

Died in 1967 in the Apollo spacecraft fire. He piloted the Liberty Bell 7 spacecraft, the second and final suborbital Mercury test flight, on July 21, 1961. Project Mercury commemorative cover, 6.5 x 3.75, bearing a stamped cachet reading, “At Cape Canaveral, Capt. Virgil I. Grissom, USAF, 2nd U. S. Space Flight In ‘Liberty Bell 7’ Space Capsule,” signed under he cachet in blue ballpoint, “Virgil I. Grissom.” Cover also bears two postal stamps and a July 21, 1961, Port Canaveral cancellation stamp. In fine condition, with small stamped address to lower right. COA Scott Cornish and R&R COA.
