Very nicely done original pastel portrait of Judy Garland in tramp make-up, done by Garland’s neighbor Barbara Paolini in 1955, on a 19 x 23 sheet of light blue textured artists paper. Signed in black ink in the lower right corner, “My sincere thanks for taking the time to do this portrait of me - It’s wonderful, Judy Garland.” Accompanied by two notarized statements of authenticity, stating that Paolini made the portrait in 1955 and that “Ms. Paolini’s family lived close to Mr. and Mrs. Luft…and presented it to Judy Garland Luft for her review. Ms. Garland was delighted with the image and signed it for Barbara.” Also accompanied by an unsigned glossy 8 x 10 photo of Garland performing in a tramp costume and make-up. In fine condition, with some mild edge toning from previous framing, as well as some light tape marks and remnants, all of which could be matted out. PSA/DNA COA and R&R COA.
