Ohio-born yet strangely exotic film actress (1885–1955), nicknamed “The Vamp,” who became one of the most iconic sex symbols of the silent era. Wonderful vintage matte-finish 7 x 9 photo of the soulful-looking actress with her equally soulful-looking dog, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “Très sincèrement, Theda Bara, 1916.” In fine condition, with mild scattered soiling, faint corner bend, trimmed edges, light silvering to perimeter, and mounting remnants to reverse, none of the above detracting from the striking image.
