In 1944 he was implicated in a plot to assassinate Hitler; given the choice of suicide or trial, he took poison. DS, in German, signed “Rommel,” one page, 8.25 x 11.5, October 22, 1941. Rommel signs a recommendation for one soldier for receipt of the Distinguished Service Cross, second class, with Swords. Boldly signed at the conclusion in pencil, “Rommel.” In fine condition, with light showthrough from type on reverse, a couple small pencil notations and punch holes to right edge. R&R COA.
