A hardcover copy of Fred Astaire’s Steps In Time, signed and inscribed on the reverse of the first free end page by Streisand to her then-husband Elliot Gould, “Darling, I love you! (even more than you love Fred Astaire!) Barbra”; and a hardcover copy of I Remember It Well by Maurice Chevalier, signed and inscribed in fountain pen on the first free end page, “To Barbra Streisand, With affectionate admiration, Maurice Chevalier.” Included with the book is a 1970 TLS from the publishing company to Streisand, asking her to make a public comment about the book and informing her that Chevalier will be in New York and that he hopes to see her.
