Description

Writing from the White House, Ike drops a hint to a successful fund-raiser: “I am getting ideas as to who to turn to in connection with somewhat larger projects of a similar character”

TLS as president, signed “DE,” one page, 6.75 x 9, White House letterhead, June 25, 1959. Ike writes to Sigurd S. Larmon, president of the powerhouse advertising firm Young & Rubicam. In full: “I am not at all sure you didn’t do yourself a disservice by your success in the money-raising field for PAL; I am getting ideas as to who to turn to in connection with somewhat larger projects of a similar character. But, I am simply delighted at the results of your ‘campaign.’ I, too, hope that Commissioner Aldrich will be able to reorganize the Police Athletic League to enable it to function more effectively….” In fine condition, with usual mailing fold and a few very subtle smudges. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
