In full, “Do thou thy work; It shall succeed In thine, or, in another’s day; And, if denied the victor’s meed Thou shall not miss the toiler’s pay.” Signed at the bottom, “John Greenleaf Whittier, January 28, 1876.” Double matted and framed with a typed transcript of the quote and an engraved portrait, to an overall size of 16.75 x 13.5.
