Twenty-three piece archive from the original jet-setter, including his signed receipt for a Churchill TLS!

Inventor of the jet engine. Archive of twenty-three pieces comprised of five ALSs (signed either “Frank” or “Frank and Tommie”), a signed receipt for the purchase of a Winston Churchill TLS; a typescript of Whittle’s diary for April 12, 1937, signed at the conclusion; five commemorative covers (two honoring Whittle himself), each signed by Whittle (with three signed by two others); six pre-printed biographical cards, each signed in black ink; two checks endorsed by Whittle; a Lufthansa color postcards, signed in black ink; a Christmas card with a lengthy ALS, signed by “Frank and Tommie”; and an envelope addressed in Whittle’s hand. In overall fine condition, with occasional scattered creasing or a corner crease, small area of trivial soiling or smudge. R&R COA.
