Distinguished Czech composer (1824–1884) best known for his colorful symphonic poem The Moldau and the opera The Bartered Bride. Elusive 4 x 6 cabinet photo of the bespectacled composer, signed in ink on the reverse, “Bedr. Smetana” and inscribed (in Czech) to conductor Adolf Cech.
