Evers reminisces on the famed double play combination, “Chance I am sorry to say died in 1924 where he was Mgr. of the White Sox and Tinker I am sure you can locate at Orlando, Fla.”

Diminutive second baseman for the Chicago Cubs who was the cornerstone in the legendary Tinker-Evers-Chance double-play combination. ALS signed “John J. Evers,” one page, 8 x 10.5, Johnny Evers business letterhead, November 20, 1930. Nice letter to a young autograph collector. In part, “Your very kind note received re: reference to my autograph and I am only to pleased to grant your request and as to Chance & Tinker. Chance I am sorry to say died in 1924 where he was Mgr. of the White Sox and Tinker I am sure you can locate at Orlando, Fla.” In fine condition, with expected mailing folds, two small slips of paper affixed to top and bottom of page, one with career info and one with a printed signature and light corner wrinkling from previous mounting remnants on reverse.
