ALS, one page both sides, 5.5 x 9, personal letterhead, no date, but postmarked December 25, 1966. Letter to an admirer. In full, “Your letter dated Nov. 27 shocked me so much that I called Shueisha on the phone and blamed their laziness. I believe you already accepted a copy of Killed By Roses sent by airmail. (The airmail expence [sic] is complimentary). I am now writing a long novel with 4 volumes, which would, I’m afraid, take another 5 years. I do hope you’ll have a very happy New Year.” The four volume novel he mentions would become Spring Now. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, with Mishima’s signature appearing again in the return address area. In very fine condition, with two horizontal mailing folds.
