Description

Flynn: Show me the money

DS signed “Errol,” one page, 5 x 7, International Film Production Tangier letterhead, no date [circa 1950s]. Flynn sends his demands for appearing in the film Escape from Elba. In part: “I will do this picture if I can have the following: $15,000 on signing, $20,000 on first day of shooting, $20,000 at the end of the third week…. Expenses $500.00 per week plus car and driver…. The rest of my salary ($150,000) first money in the U.S.A. except for the guarantee, which will not exceed $100,000.” He adds in his own hand, “This is my final deal, Barry” and “Exps. plus car of course.” Accompanied by an unsigned contemporaneous copy of the script (possibly Flynn’s own), which was written by Lawrence P. Bachmann. The film was never made. In fine condition. COA PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
