Born Archibald Alexander Leach in Bristol, England, in 1904, the dashing young stage actor was rechristened Cary Grant by Paramount Studios for his big-screen debut in 1932. When the Paramount contract expired, he made the then-unusual decision to freelance. Because his films were so successful at the box office, he was able to work at any studio he chose for most of his career. Vintage matte-finish 7.5 x 9.5 photo of the smiling actor seated on the floor, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Billy Gleason with happy memories! Cary Grant.” Neatly trimmed edges, creases to upper left and lower right corners, otherwise fine condition. COA PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
