Lot of thirty-three candid vintage photos, ranging in size from 3.5 x 5 to 5 x 7 (most 5 x 7) each signed in fountain pen by the entertainer pictured. All of the photos were taken outdoors, either on the street or outside a theatre. This lot includes actors, actresses, comedians, dancers and musicians! Included: Edward Everett Horton, Bert Wheeler (ins), El Brendel (ins), Martha Tilton, Irene Manning, Nanette Fabray, Jane Withers (2), Helen Hayes, Jane Pickens, Gale Storm, Eileen Barton, Cornelia Otis Skinner, Mary Beth Hughes, Key Luke, Allan Jones, Reginald Denny, Charles Regan; Danny Kaye, Bill Williams, Edmund Lowe, Eleanor Powell (2), full-length photo of the Nicholas brothers, Harold and Fayard in suits and ties, standing under a Loew Building sign, signed “Sincerely, Nicholas Brothers” in blue ink. Fayard has, characteristically, signed for both brothers, Mickey Rooney, Leon Errol, Joe E. Brown, Lillian Bond, Ezio Pinza, Lauritz Melchior, Benny Goodman, Roy Eldridge and Red Nichols. Many of the photos are inscribed “To Lorraine,” and in several photos the entertainer is seen standing with a young girl, presumably Lorraine. In overall very good condition, with scattered creasing and surface impressions due to adhesive residue on the reverse of many, corner creases, minor edge wear, occasional smudge to a signature.
