Italian conductor. During his lengthy career, Toscanini was the Musical Director of Las Scala in Milan, and conductor of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Vintage profile portrait, 8 x 9.25, from a newspaper, signed “Arturo Toscanini, 32-2-1936” in fountain pen. The legend beneath the portrait reads “Who Begins his tenth season with the Philharmoic-Symphony Orchestra Thursday evening.” In very good condition, with toning, minor edge wear, trivial soling, adhesive tape repairs on reverse.
