TLS, one page, 7 x 8, Faber and Faber Limited letterhead, April 20, 1950. A polite refusal of an invitation to speak. In full: “Thank you for your kind letter of April 14th, inviting me to address the Woman’s Club of Illinois at some time during my visit to Chicago. I am sorry that I am unable to undertake additional lecture engagements, for the reason that I shall not have the time before I come to America to prepare lectures beyond those which I have already arranged to give.” In fine condition, with mild toning and usual mailing folds.
