Exceedingly rare, desirable and fabulous unpublished handwritten lyric to an unpublished song, containing words from two other published songs, “Slow Blues” and “Sippin’ Wine.” According to the Hendrix estate, this lyric is heretofore unknown, except for the two aforementioned lines which are separate songs. The manuscript is written on a 5 x 7 lined sheet. The entire sheet is accomplished in Hendrix’ hand. In full: Well I’m sippin wine - and I don’t know where to go - People, tell me lies - And they really hurt me so - drinking wine - got a plane to catch to where - don’t know, where to hide - (crossed out: “Stare”) laugh at me (Bridge) Well…Sawdust floor - Don’t even stick to my shoes - try to…make them smile - While they make me blue.” With staple holes at upper left corner, otherwise in very fine condition. Hendrix manuscripts have become increasingly difficult to find, and this is the first we’ve offered since 1998. The only other manuscript we’re aware of has a published price in excess of $50,000. This is a true gem which is a must for inclusion in any important Rock and Roll collection. COA Roger Epperson/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
