Lot of four items includes: bold signature and inscription “To Linda, with many good wishes from Gary Cooper, 1954” on a 4.5 x 3.5 album page; three telegrams to and from Cooper, two dated September 1954 and one dated March 1954. Excerpts include: “In view of the fact that we have delayed production of Powerhouse at great cost, we have all been going slightly out of our minds trying to reach you at addresses you gave us. Copies of previous wires have been returned to us. It is unanimous opinion everyone connected with production including King Vidor and myself that our attempted rewrites, with help of Ray Bradbury, have destroyed the tremendous impact of original felt by everyone…Do please believe Gary that I am not trying to put any undue pressure on you…Judith Anderson and Helen Hayes are both working on their section at studio today…I shall be enormously grateful for prompt word from you.” A telegram from Cooper reads, in part: “I hereby constitute and appoint I.H. Prinzmetal my true and lawful attorney.” Also included is a letter from the Veterans of Foreign Wars regarding a citation received by Cooper. In overall very good condition, with mounting remnants to edges of album page touching a letter of the signature, vertical crease through signature, typical age and handling wear to rest.
