Quintessential American illustrator offers a quintessential American remark: “I guess my only comment about the article is that everybody has a right to their own opinion.”

Quintessential American illustrator whose works, many of which appeared on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, offer a nostalgic, idealized view of everyday American life. Lot of four items includes: a TLS signed “Norman,” dated January 8, 1974, which reads, in part: “I was surprised and pleased to hear from you…I guess my only comment about the article is that everybody has a right to their own opinion”; a second TLS, dated March 16, 1971, reads, in part: “No, I did not do a portrait of Al Jolson. To my knowledge there are no copies of the 1960 President Nixon painting”; also included is a 5 x 3 photo of Rockwell at his drawing table, signed and inscribed to “Edwin A. Rowlands” in black felt tip; and a small reproduction of one of his works depicting a young boy and a dog, signed and inscribed to “Wallace Richards” in black felt tip. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for one of the letters. In overall fine condition. R&R COA.
