Hitler’s pilot. During the final days of World War II, Baur tried to convince Hitler to let him be flown out of Berlin. Hitler refused and thanked Baur for his long, faithful service. Baur then attempted to flee Berlin, and lost a leg in the attempt. He was a prisoner of the Russians until 1955. He died in 1993. Lot of eight signed items includes: four photos, ranging in size from 4 x 6 to 10 x 8; two TLSs, in German, one dated July 1979, the other May, 1976; and two identical souvenir typescripts, each on an 8.5 x 11 sheet, comprised of an extract from his book, Hitler’s Personal Pilot.
