Died in 1967 in the Apollo spacecraft fire. He piloted the Liberty Bell 7 spacecraft, the second and final suborbital Mercury test flight, on July 21, 1961. Ink signature, “Virgil I. Grissom,” signed vertically along the left edge of a white 6.5 x 3.75 envelope. The cover is postmarked July 28, 1961. In fine condition, with name and address in another hand in the lower right corner, far from the Grissom signature. R&R COA.
