A year to the day before the surrender of the Japanese, Truman sends his autograph - - stamped

TLS, one page, 8 x 10, United States Senate letterhead, August 14, 1944. In part: “This is to acknowledge your letter of August Fifth, regarding your collection of autographs. I am enclosing for your collection a Gallery Card, which I sincerely hope will meet your request.” In fine condition, with a horizontal fold touching a letter of the signature, two blocks of light toning and a rusted paper clip impression far from the signature. Accompanied by the above-referenced gallery card, which permits visitors to the U.S. Senate Chamber, with a stamped Truman signature. R&R COA.
