Description

Pat Nixon on the mend: “She is home now, and slowly but surely making splendid progress toward full recovery”

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, August 13, 1976. The ex-president sends thanks to a well-wisher in the month following Pat Nixon’s stroke. In part: “Excellent medical attention, plus her courage and determination, have contributed greatly to the progress she has made. But I am confident that your message, and the others she has received, as well as the prayers of people all over the world, have helped enormously in enabling her to come through this difficult crisis even better and more rapidly than the doctors thought would be possible when she entered the hospital.” Nixon also penned the salutation, “Dear George.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In fine condition, with usual mailing folds. R&R COA.
