Original signed and inscribed pencil sketch of the Fab Four in their early mod-style collarless suits on an off-white 12 x 10 sheet, done by an obviously huge fan as the Beatles popularity began to soar. Signed in black felt tip, “Ringo Starr,” “Lots of love, Paul McCartney,” “George Harrison,” who adds an inscription, “To Caroline & Virginia,” and “John Lenn[on],” with space constraints not allowing Lennon to finish the last two letters of signature. Very nicely double float matted and framed, to an overall size of 19.5 x 17.5. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, who dates the signatures from late 1963. In very good condition, with vertical creases throughout, closely trimmed left edge affecting opening stroke of Starr’s signature, tape and mounting remnants along top edge and some light wrinkling. Despite the physical appearance of the sheet, Caiazzo adds that “the signatures on the item are large and very bold, and can be seen from a distance in most rooms, a quality found in very few Beatles signed pieces to surface to date.” COA Roger Epperson/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
