Davis writes from exile in Europe, “We have improved amid this charming scenery, but expect to reach Glasgow tomorrow.”

ALS, written during his exile in London, one page, 4.5 x 7, August 6, 1869. Letter to Joseph Smith. In full, “We have improved amid this charming scenery, but expect to reach Glasgow tomorrow at 8 o’clock by the train which leaves Ballock at 6.40 P. P. Dr. MacKay is much obliged to you and accepts your invitation.” In very good condition, with expected mailing folds, some scattered light toning and foxing and bold legible text and signature.
