Description

General Electric shill Ronald Reagan unknowingly quotes the author of Slaughterhouse Five

Vintage AQS on an off-white 5 x 3 page. Reagan, then a spokesperson for General Electric, pens and signs the company’s famous ad slogan, “Progress Is Our Most Important Product,” which was created by none other than novelist—and former G.E. publicist—Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. This unwitting tribute to one of Reagan’s most ardent and visible critics is doubly amusing given Vonnegut’s famous observation that “All I do is louse up paper, whereas Ronald Reagan, who used to work for General Electric, too, loused up the whole country.” In fine condition, with typed collector’s notation at bottom, punch holes to left edge, and small mounting remnants to two sides, well away from writing. R&R COA.
