Description

Thomas Edison in need of a lecture on age discrimination

ALS in pencil, signed “E,” one lightly lined beige page, 5 x 8, no date. A letter to his assistant McCrea about someone they were considering hiring. In full: “I am doubtful about this man. You might look up his references. Not young and may lack pep. He changes his positions rather often & may be let out as a lemon.” Interesting insight into Edison’s hiring practices. In fine condition, with age and handling wear, toning, a couple of small tears at the margins. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
