Lot of two items: vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “Good luck to Janie Hite, Louis Calhern”; and a TLS on personal letterhead, signed “Lou,” dated June 28, 1949, in part: “You step right up as one of our towering actresses. I was thrilled time and time again and awful dam [sic] proud to know you.” In very good condition, with bends, dings, and light soiling to photo and usual mailing folds and filing holes to letter, away from signature.
