ALS signed “Bette,” two pages, 7.25 x 10.5, no date. Letter addressed to Lucy. In part, “My behavior when you all came for dinner was unforgivable! My apologies and to you and Shirley…As for Earl, with every good intention, allowing for his ‘over whatever’ about me - I never make it. I talk to myself for days before you come - I think it is the result of this amount of ‘whatever’ I am embarrassed by or think Earl should be embarrassed by this crazy devotion to me.” In fine condition, with staple holes to top left corner.
