In part, “Mr. Charles Walsh…who I understand is now about sixteen years of age, has been for some time on the list of appointments for a midshipman’s warrant. The object of this letter is to apprise you that he still desires to be regarded as an appointment…Mr. Wyatt…speaks of Mr. Walsh in very favorable terms & I therefore respectfully recommend him to your consideration.” In very good condition, with a light shade of overall toning, previous folds and wrinkles, light show through from adhesive on reverse and a few small edge tears.
